Educaitonal Value of Animoto
Equations
I have created an Equations Animoto that will hopefully be a fun way for students to see where math (specifically equations) can be found in our everyday lives. I have tried to use inquiry based language and questions to promote my inquiry based WebQuest. I think it would be even better to have students then create their own Animoto as a way to introduce equations, show they can recognize equations in their everyday lives, and to increase the use of technology in my classroom. Taking advantage of the text Animoto allows, I could even ask the students to create equations in the captions section based off of their real world examples, and use Animoto as a way to present a project. Animoto is another quick, easy and fun technology resource to hook and introduce students to new material.

Educational Value of Wordle
I have created this Wordle to help students get to know the language and vocabulary they should become familiar with in order to help understand the solving equations process. After recently attending a John Collins professional development and listening to him promote to teachers how important and helpful vocabulary can be to student learning, I feel Wordle's can be a fun way to introduce students to a new topic and it's vocabulary. When I first look at a Wordle, I immediately start trying to find words that I recognize and know. For students, I will use the Wordle as an introduction and ask students what they know about any words they see on the Wordle. If there are any words they can not define, then they will find definitions that most apply to math. Lastly, I will give students the opportunity to create their own Wordle of the words they feel best apply to solving equations.

Welcome to my class blog! I have been playing around with my blog and hope you enjoy the rough draft so far. I teach 7th grade math in Seabrook, NH and am currently taking graduate courses online at SNHU. Here is a link to show you how SNHU is paving the way with their amazingly convenient online courses.
